Police say a corporate manager was trying to resolve a dispute between two financial managers when the two men started fighting.

One man hit the other, the second man then pulled a pistol from his pocket and fired a shot, but missed.

29-year-old Henry Temples of Milledgeville is charged with battery and fighting.

37-year-old Brandon Holmes of Unadilla faces several charges, including aggravated assault and discharging a firearm.

This incident raised the question, "Can you bring a gun to work?"

Warner Robins Acting Police Chief John Wagner said Brandon Holmes does have a Georgia Weapons Carry License, so he legally had the right to carry the gun with him to most places.

"Could he have the firearm at this business? Well, he legally did have the firearm on him with the license," said Wagner.

But does that mean you can bring a gun to work?

"Well, now the question is, 'Can he have it at his business?' Well, this is a private business and law enforcement cannot dictate what they're gonna do at this private business," said Wagner.

To summarize, the decision is up to the employer.

So, if you want to bring your gun into work, you need to talk to your employer after you've gotten your license.

According to the Georgia Safe Carry Protection Act, you must have a license to carry a weapon. You can apply for the license at the superior court in the county where you live.

When you're applying for a license, you must complete the application and bring it to the probate court in your county and include proof of residency.
