SANDERSVILLE, Ga. — A Washington County man was arrested last week after a traffic stop found he had 14 pounds of marijuana in his car.
According to a news release from Sheriff Thomas Smith, Georgia State Patrol initiated a traffic stop on Highway 24 West in Sandersville on Friday when 50-year-old Christopher Blanco failed to stay in his lane.
Blanco’s vehicle was searched and troopers found around 14 pounds of marijuana. The estimated value of the confiscated drugs totaled more than $50,000.
Blanco was arrested and charged with failure to maintain lane and trafficking marijuana. Smith says additional charges are possible.
Agencies involved in the arrest include the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Ocmulgee Drug Task Force and Department of Corrections K9 Unit.
