GRAY, Ga. — A woman is dead in Jones County after a deadly house fire Thursday night, according to Jones County Deputy Coroner Wayne Grier.
At around 6:30 p.m., a call came into the Jones County 911 Center notifying them of a fire on 234 Sand Creek Trail in Gray.
At around 7 p.m., Grier received a call that a woman had died, and he was called out to the scene.
When he arrived, 64-year-old Brenda Jo Kelly was pronounced dead, Grier said. Her cause of death is under investigation. He said that Kelly lived alone.
The cause of the fire is also under investigation, Grier said, but they do not believe foul play is expected.
This is a developing story.
