GLENWOOD, Ga. — A man was arrested for allegedly shooting his brother during a fight on Oct. 21 in Wheeler County, according to a press release from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).
The GBI arrested 68-year-old Paul Dixon of Glenwood on aggravated assault charges, the agency said in the release. Dixon was taken to the Wheeler County Jail where he was booked.
While they did not explicitly say when Dixon was arrested, the GBI sent out the press release on Thursday afternoon.
According to a previous media release, the shooting all started with a fight between two brothers.
At around 5:15 p.m. on Oct. 21, the Wheeler County Sheriff's Office responded to Clarks Bluff Road in Glenwood.
They say two brothers — one from Florida, the other from Georgia — got into a fight. Eventually, one of the brothers was shot and the other was injured.
Both of them required medical treatment.
The GBI confirmed to 13WMAZ that Dixon was one of the brothers who was involved in the fight.
They did not release information on what led up to the shooting.
