MACON, Ga. — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people in West Macon in connection to an aggravated assault investigation involving a two and a four-year old, a press release said.
The release said deputies arrested the children’s father, Kyle Rogers, 30, shortly after arriving on Thursday morning. The release added investigators took the children’s mother, Dajanae Jones, 26, into custody on Friday.
The release said that deputies arrived around 10 a.m. on Thursday to a house in Del Park for a welfare check on the two children.
After arriving, they found the two and four-year-old children with injuries. According to the release, paramedics transported the children to a hospital for treatment. Hospital staff said the two-year-old is in stable, but critical condition. They added that the four-year-old is in stable condition.
The father was charged with two counts of first-degree cruelty to children, three counts of terroristic threats, aggravated battery, aggravated assault and battery. The mother was also charged with two counts of first-degree cruelty to children.
She also had outstanding arrest warrants from the Sandy Springs Police Department and Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office. Both warrants have been served. Both parents are being held without bond.
