'Upwards of 50 shell casings recovered': Warner Robins Police investigating after 2 teens shot

Police still don't know who fired shots, but they don't believe either injured teen was among the shooters.

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — After a shooting on Tuesday night near Camellia Circle in Warner Robins, two teens are recovering while police are trying to figure out what happened.

The shooting happened off of North Davis Drive and Deloris Toliver Park.

Now, one teen is in stable condition at Houston Healthcare, and another returned home Wednesday after the shooting.

Two neighbors in the Camellia Circle area say that gun violence is common in the area and they weren't shocked to hear of another shooting.

"Unfortunately it tends to be the younger age groups involved in these incidents," Warner Robins Police Sgt. Justin Clark said.

He says there is still a lot of unknown in Tuesday night's shootings. They don't know who or how many people fired shots, but they did have more than 70 marks of evidence left behind.

"There were upwards of 50 shell casings recovered with different calibers," he said.

This suggests that multiple guns may have been involved in the shooting.

On Wednesday, Clark and other detectives knocked on doors questioning neighbors. Clark says they've gotten leads through using technology like Flock and Ring doorbell cameras.

"Determining that there were other people involved. Looking into possible suspect vehicles as well that were captured on camera," Clark said.

He says they have names of potential suspects, and they don't believe this is a random crime.

"Typically it's going to be a current altercation or retaliation for a previous altercation," Clark said.

At this time, they can't confirm if the shooting was gang-related.

"At least the majority of the parties are known to each other.  Maybe a past altercation or a past incident," he believes.

With people in the neighborhood unsurprised by the shooting, we asked Clark what the police department does to help high-crime areas.

"Whether it be Camellia Circle or in other areas, we'll have more concentrated patrols and things like that in the area," Clark said.

He says they still don't know the color of the suspect car, they are looking for a dark sedan.

Police are asking that if you have any information, you can contact Detective Karmen Thompson at 478-302-5380 or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
