Warner Robins home suffers heavy damage after Tuesday night fire

While the fire was largely contained to the living room and kitchen, the house was seriously damaged and is 'unlivable,' fire officials say.

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — A Warner Robins fire is now under control after breaking out at 109 Oklahoma Avenue Tuesday evening, but the fire severely damaged the residential home, Warner Robins Assistant Fire Chief Russell Oakley said.

He says the fire broke out in the living room and no residents were there at the time.

The fire caused "heavy" damage, Oakley said, but the living room and kitchen suffered the most damage.

He says they were able to largely contain the fire to the living room but it did spread to the kitchen and hallway. The house's bedrooms were not impacted.

While the fire was controlled and the spread was contained, Oakley says the house is not livable, displacing the home's residents. He says the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
