Warner Robins residents react after apartment shooting leaves teens in hospital

How residents in the community are reacting at the lake vista apartments

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — Warner Robins police are looking for the people inside a Honda CRV who opened fire on two teens.

The teens are still in the hospital tonight.

It happened at the Lake Vista apartments on Northlake Drive.

Warner Robins police say the shooting happened around 3:30 p.m. on Friday. They say the suspect talked with the teens and then someone from inside the car began shooting.

13-year-old Tyshawn Calloway says he was shocked when he realized it was his friends who were shot.

“I just heard like 6 loud bangs that's all I heard,” Calloway said. “I was scared for Ping and Taki. I wasn't that scared because he only got shot in his leg, but he looked okay."

Tiaundra Hickey says her sister was sitting in her car when she heard the bullets. They went through her front passenger door window and the front of her car.

“We immediately dropped everything when she called and we came over here and upon coming over here we saw that her car had been shot up pretty badly,” Hickey said.

Both teens were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds to the leg. Hickey says she never expected her sister to be in this situation.

“But never in a million years did I think that my sister would call and say, 'Hey there was a shooting, and I literally had to duck inside the car,'” Hickey said.

She says her sister was terrified.

Police are still looking for the drivers of that Honda CRV with license plate numbers RTA6517.
