The fire marshal is still investigating what caused the fire.

GORDON, Ga. — Two people are dead after a house fire in Gordon, according to Wilkinson County Coroner Bill Matthews.

He says it happened at a brick home at 107 Sitton Avenue on Friday.

The pair who died are 72-year-old Russell Hawthorn and his wife 68-year-old Cindy Hawthorn.

The fire marshal is still investigating what caused the fire.

Matthews says the couple's bodies are being sent to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy.
