SANDERSVILLE, Ga. — Three people are hurt after a fiery crash in Sandersville, according to a Facebook post from the Sandersville Police Department.
The Georgia State Patrol says it happened around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Sandersville Police, Sandersville Fire, Washington County EMS, and the Washington County Sheriff's Office responded to South Hospital Road near Alfred C. Carson Drive after a crash, the post said.
The Georgia State Patrol says a pickup truck was traveling south on Hospital Road and attempted to negotiate a curve when the driver lost control of the car.
The truck rotated off the roadway into a ditch, before crashing into a tree.
The impact from the tree caused the truck to split in half and eject the driver and two passengers from the car. The bed of the truck continued moving until it hit a home in the 400 block of South Hospital Road.
A pickup truck was found fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived, Sandersville Police say.
The driver was airlifted to Doctors Hospital in Augusta and the two passengers were airlifted to Atrium Health Navicent in Macon.
