WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — It's the day after Christmas and the crowds are back in full force at places like Walmart as people return some of their gifts.
According to the tech company Oracle, 77 percent of holiday shoppers are expected to return some of their new games, clothes, and toys. Wendell Gaskin says he isn't one of them.
"Maybe the first year, but we're not returning not one item this year," Gaskin said.
Paris Newton says she only had to return a couple of things and the store was packed.
"Especially the customer service line. It was hectic," Newton said.
One thing she's not returning? Her new TV.
According to the National Retail Federation, 68 percent of shoppers will hit the stores the week after Christmas. Gaskin said for him and his wife, they still went in to face the after-Christmas crowds and get those deals.
"We're doing a little after-Christmas shopping to take advantage of the reduced prices, especially with the wrapping paper, bows, and bags," Gaskin said.
Some of the top gifts of 2019 were clothes, toys, electronics and experiences like concerts or sporting events.
Surveys done over the years say that makeup, shoes, and candles are some of the most popularly returned items.
The National Retail Federation says during the holiday season, sales will total around $730 billion.
