MACON, Ga. — 'Twas the night before Christmas when all through the shops, the people were buying their presents non-stop.
Cashiers were standing by registers with care, in hopes that late shoppers soon would be there.
"I'm doing my traditional thing. Last minute shopping at Walmart," shopper Willie Dumas said.
The toys are nestled all snug in their carts, while the parents wonder when the gift wrapping will start.
"I got Tonka trucks, a few clothes," shopper Kesha Wimberly said.
"Headphones are a big thing this year for kids. They've got their iPads," Dumas said.
Some are still hoping they'll be able to buy a perfect gift for that one special guy.
"We're trying to find the perfect gift, except somebody took all the perfect gifts, so we're still looking," shopper April Plunkett said.
Joseph Woods and his sons are big kids at heart, so on Christmas they'll crown a champ of Nerf darts.
"We have Nerf wars, so I just bought 200 bullets to go in the Nerf guns," Woods said.
Once the cashiers lock up and clock out with glee, kids will wait to see what Santa leaves under the tree.
"I wake up and I go run into my mom's bed and I jumped on her, 'Wake up, wake up. It's Christmas," Plunkett's daughter, Oktober, said.
Between the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, Willie Dumas knows there's only one real reason.
"It's all about family. It's all about fun," Dumas said.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.
