MACON, Ga. — A north Macon furniture and home goods store that's part of a national chain is set to close.
According to signs posted on its door, Pier 1 Imports in the Shoppes at River Crossing off Riverside Drive will close.
A clearance sale has already started, and all sales are final, the signs say.
Earlier this month, the chain announced it's closing up to 450 stores nationwide, which is about half of their locations.
The chain is also looking to scale back their staff by 40% and is reportedly preparing to file for bankruptcy.
Macon is also no longer listed as a store location on Pier 1's website.
Also this month, Macy's in the Macon Mall off Eisenhower Parkway announced its closure, which will happen by spring of this year.
Macy's clearance sale has started as well and is supposed to last eight to 12 weeks.
