One person arrested for DUI after crash shuts down Pio Nono Avenue, sheriff's office says

The crashed happened just before 1:30 p.m. on Monday.

MACON, Ga. — One person was arrested for driving under the influence following a crash that has parts of Pio Nono Avenue still shut down, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. 

The crash happened just before 1:30 p.m. in the block of Pio Nono Avenue between Napier Avenue and Beech Avenue. 

No one was killed or injured in the crash. A utility pole was hit by one of the cars involved in the crash which is the reason for the road closure. One person was arrested for driving under the influence and failure to maintain a lane. 

As of 4:47 p.m., the Bibb County Sheriff's Office says Pio Nono is now open for travel. Earlier, Bibb County deputies were on scene, diverting traffic.
