Search party held for Macon 18-year-old who's been missing for one month

Through tall bushes and debris, Dixon's friends and family members scoured the Macon area to find her.

MACON, Ga. — A Macon family is still searching for answers -- and their daughter -- who disappeared one month ago.

Now they've taken their questions to the streets, holding a search party to help bring her home. 18-year-old Gabriella Dixon went missing one month ago, and her family's doing everything they can to find her.

From Carolyn Crayton Park to the Ocmulgee River Trail, Gabriella's family said she's missed and they want her to come home safe and sound.

Through tall bushes and debris, Dixon's mother, Gabrella Searcey, gathered family members and friends to scour the Macon area to find her missing daughter.

"We're doing what we've been doing for the past 32 days now, searching," Searcy said. "I have no idea what's going on, so it's just us searching. There's no help from the police department with this search."

When it comes to the police, Searcy says they're still investigating but haven't kept her in the loop.

She last heard from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office two weeks ago when there was an arrest made on Reginald Harris, the father of Dixon's 2-year-old and 10-month-old children.

Harris was arrested on four outstanding charges including aggravated assault, but not in relation to Dixon's case.

"You just ignore a parent or ignore a loved one if they reported that their loved one was missing?" Searcy said. "You just ignore it for a couple of days and then you go search? So at this point, I'm very upset with how they're treating this."

Reginae Dixon is Gabriella Dixon's older sister, and she says it's a sad and stressful situation.

But they're not giving up.

Reginae has been taking care of her sister's kids, and they want their mother back.

"We're not going to give up until we find her," Dixon said. "Even though the investigators and the mayor and the sheriff department are getting frustrated with us and everybody's telling us it doesn't have anything to do with them, we're not going to give up even, though we're basically solving the case ourselves. We're going to keep searching, keep finding, until she's found."

Through determination and a strong sense of community, Gabriella's family said they'll search until the end of the world to find her, and they're praying she's healthy and safe.

"If Gabby is somewhere being held hostage, we love you, we miss you, we want you home today," Searcy said. "We can't spend another night, another morning not having you here."

Dixon was last seen on October 29 when she dropped off her kids with her mom.
