MACON, Ga. — The Bibb County Sheriff's Office says the disappearance of 18-year-old Gabriella Dixon could be a homicide, but they are still looking for evidence.
Dixon was last seen on Monday, Oct. 30. The next day, her family started raising concerns and asking questions.
Gaby Searcy is the mother of Dixon. She says they were the same person.
"We didn't like a lot of company, but we could sit by ourselves, we could read and we'd be just fine," Searcy said.
Searcy says she's "holding onto faith" that her mini-me isn't gone.
On Halloween, Searcy says she never got a call or text from her daughter to let her know where she was. When Dixon's kids arrived at her home, she said the two-year-old said something that rattled her.
"She touched my knees and said 'Gaby is sleeping in blood," Searcy said.
She told her husband what her granddaughter said. That's when she knew something was wrong.
"I ended up calling the police around 2:30 p.m., or 3 p.m. between that timeframe because I was trying to confirm. OK, I called my children first. My older daughter, they go to Fort Valley 'Hey have you all talked to Gaby today, did you come pick her up?' And they're telling me no. And at that time I was on high alert," Searcy said.
Dixon filed a missing persons report with the Bibb County Sheriff's Office. They first reported it last Wednesday as a missing person case but on Monday, they said they have evidence that suggests Dixon was killed.
So far, she has not been located. Searcy says her family has gone out searching for her but she wants the sheriff's office to do more.
"I'm sure they have a special team that's trained and they should've had some type of search party," Searcy said.
Searcy's husband, Darryl Searcy, says the mission remains the same in the search for Dixon.
"We want to bring her home, we want justice but most importantly we want to bring Gabby home," he said.
Searcy can't believe someone would hurt her daughter.
"Not being ever ever see her again never. it's unreal. nobody should have to do this," Searcy said.
Now all that's left is finding Searcy's mini-me.
The Dixon and Searcy family would like to thank Bibb County Colonel Henderson, Officer Woodard and Officer Thomas for coming out to speak to their family.
