One injured in late-night shooting at Fort Valley apartment complex, per report

They say the shooting happened around 10:45 p.m. on Monday.

FORT VALLEY, Ga. — A man was shot at a Fort Valley apartment complex on Monday night, according to a press release from Fort Valley Police Chief DJ Flores.

Flores says the shooting happened around 10:45 p.m. at the Indian Oaks Apartments, which has seen shootings in the past. He says officers in the area heard multiple gunshots fired around the apartments, and quickly reached the area.

The release says the officers found a man who had been shot in his car, with several people attempting to remove him from the car and help him. The man is currently in critical but stable condition, per the report.

The case has been turned over to the GBI for investigation, according to the release. Anyone with information about the shooting is encouraged to contact the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
