ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. — On Saturday, the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins hosted a D-Day anniversary event in honor of the battle’s 80th anniversary.
The event was held in the Scott Exhibit Hangar of the Museum and took place five days prior to the actual anniversary of D-Day, which occurred on June 6, 1944.
The museum set out to highlight different aspects of World War II and the Normandy Invasion. They had several events for people of all ages to interact with.
World War II reenactment group Kelly’s Zeroes had a performance for the time period. There was memorabilia and artifacts from the war alongside Rosie the Riveter memorabilia.
Also, there was a scavenger hunt raffle and tour of Geronimo’s World War II Interactive Classroom, where people can view more World War II artifacts and “experience hands-on learning,” according to the museum’s website.
The event ran from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
