Murder conviction upheld for Macon man who killed wife in 2014

Jasento Flowers killed his wife in 2014 and was sentenced to life without parole.

MACON, Ga. — The Georgia Supreme Court upheld the murder conviction for a Macon man convicted of killing his wife.

On Valentines Day 2014, Jasento Flowers assaulted his wife, Bridgette Flowers, at the Walmart on Gray Highway in east Macon.

He was arrested, but released from jail within two days. Several days later, he shot her in the head.

His lawyers claimed the video of the Walmart assault was not relevant to his murder charge and prejudiced the jury.

They also objected to a photo from Bridgette's autopsy, but the Georgia Supreme Court disagreed.

Flowers is now serving a life sentence without parole.
