Four teens arrested after a chase that put three Jones County schools on lockdown

The lockdown has been lifted

JONES COUNTY, Ga. — Several schools in Jones County went on lockdown after a chase between law enforcement and a group of suspects happened near them, according to the Jones County Sheriff’s Office.

On Monday night they had a series of entering autos and auto thefts.

This led to a short chase this morning when deputies located the suspects near Crestview Trace and Highway 18 West.

The officers and the suspects were running near the schools which forced them to go into a light precautionary lockdown.

All four teen suspects were caught and the sheriff’s office will release more information about them later today. They all appear to be from out of town.

Deputies are still looking for a gun that was stolen and may have been tossed during the chase.

13WMAZ will provide additional updates when they are made available.
