MONROE COUNTY, Ga. — Monroe County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested two people after finding "what appeared to be" half a pound of crack cocaine, according to a press release from the sheriff's office.
They say it all started with a traffic stop on March 7 at around 8:25 p.m.
When deputies made contact with the people in the car, they observed a small bag of marijuana, the press release said.
They say deputies then told the vehicle occupants — Danny Waye, Felicia Brown and a 13-year-old child — to leave the vehicle.
During the search, they say they found even more drugs. They say they found two small bags that authorities suspect is crack cocaine. According to the press release, they say it was hidden between the front seat and the center console of the car.
Waye and Brown, who are both from Jacksonville, Florida, were arrested for trafficking cocaine. Brown, who was the driver, was also arrested for driving on a suspended license.
The 13-year-old was taken to the sheriff's office so they could be picked up by their mother, the sheriff's office says.
They say Waye and Brown are being held at the Monroe County jail without bond
