Man dead after ATV accident in Jones County

JONES COUNTY, Ga. — A man is dead after falling off his ATV in Jones County, according to Jones County Deputy Coroner Stacy Gardner.

She says on Saturday a man was driving his ATV north on Gray Highway just before RL Wheeler Road around 10 p.m. 

Garner said the man was traveling in the grassy area between the guardrail and a steep embankment.

When trying to go around a nearby sign, the ATV hit a low spot and the man fell down the embankment. 

When the man's family didn't hear from him they called the Sheriff's Office and did more searching on Sunday.

His body was found later on Sunday.

Gardner identified him as 45-year-old Daniel C. Wiggins. His family has been notified.
