Bibb County Sheriff's Office arrested man who barricaded himself in storage trailer with a gun, release says

The man, according to a release, threatened to shoot any deputies or law enforcement that entered

MACON, Ga. — An armed man was arrested on Wednesday after he barricaded himself in a storage trailer in south Macon, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office press release.

The 49-year-old man, according to the release, was trespassing at a business within the 4000 block of Broadway around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The release said that after patrol deputies responded to the scene, the man barricaded himself inside the trailer. 

The release added that the man had a warrant for his arrest in Toombs County and refused to exit. They say he also threatened to shoot anyone who entered the trailer.

SWAT members who responded to the scene eventually captured the man and recovered his gun, according to the sheriff's office. The man was suffering minor injuries and was treated by paramedics on the scene. 

The man was charged with terroristic threats and acts and is in custody at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.
