Two men already facing murder charges connected to another fatal shooting, Bibb County Sheriff's Office says

The men have already been charged in the fatal shooting of liquor store manager Pinal Kumar Patel on South Bibb's Thoroughbred Lane.

MACON, Ga. — Two men are facing new murder charges after already being charged in a separate fatal shooting, according to a press release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.

They say Shaun Mills, 37, and Terrell Ugean Mills, 40, were arrested in the Jan. 19, 2023, shooting death of Ishmael Hassan Saleem. He was 47 years old.

Arrest warrants were served on Sunday, according to the sheriff's office.

Authorities found Saleem shot in the chest while he was sitting in his car in the 2300 block of Lincoln Street, the press release said.

However, both Shaun and Terrell have already been charged in the shooting death of 52-year-old Pinal Kumar Patel on Thoroughbred Lane in South Bibb. A group of men fatally shot Patel, a liquor store manager, in his driveway.

It is unclear what, if any, connection the two shootings have to each other besides the shootings having the same suspect.

When asked about any possible connection, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office said they couldn't provide any more information.

The press release does not say what led to Saleem's shooting.

Shaun Mills is currently in the custody of the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office in Alabama and Terrell Mills is in custody of the Jones County Sheriff's Office. They were both arrested back in early 2023. The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is still awaiting their extradition to Macon-Bibb County.

According to previous reporting, Saleem's brother, Jamall, said that his brother was a good influence in his life.

"He always led me in the right direction and gave me motivation," said Jamaal Saleem. "He just kept my mind focused."
