MACON, Ga. — A group of six churches are looking for volunteers and "helping hands" for a weekend clean-up, according to a press release from Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful.
They're hoping to help clean up the Bellevue area, a historically Black neighborhood in west Macon.
Trash company Ryland Environmental, donated dumpsters that will be placed in the parking lot of each of the participating churches.
Plus, with the event being only a few days away from Earth Day, they hope everyone in the community gets involved to help "Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful."
The event is slated for this Saturday and they'll be out cleaning up from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.
If you want to get involved, here are the churches that are taking part in Saturday's clean-up efforts.
Bethel AME Church: 3607 Earl St.
Glorious Hope Church: 3805 Napier Ave
Greater Bellevue Baptist Church: 4041 Mumford Rd
New Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church: 4388 Robinson Rd.
The Link Baptist Church: 3768 Mercer Street
Wolf Creek Baptist Church: 3564 Case St.
In their press release, Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful thanked Ryland Environmental, Macon-Bibb County and the Bibb County Sheriff's Office for their support with this weekend's cleanup.
That same day, there will also be the 24th annual Spring Cleanup Day in the Barlett Crossing and Cherokee Heights Neighborhoods. They'll be gathering at Lizzie Chapel Baptist Church at 1180 Bartlett Street at 8:30 a.m.
