Rapper GloRilla appears to still be performing in Macon after DUI arrest in Gwinnett County

As of Friday, the managers of the amphitheater say there's no change to the lineup.

MACON, Ga. — Rapper GloRilla was arrested for a DUI on Tuesday morning in Gwinnett County, just under a week before she is set to take the stage at the Atrium Health Amphitheater in Macon as part of the "Boombox Fest" concert.

Tyler Gambrell, who helps run the amphitheater, said GloRilla should still be performing in Macon this Saturday.

As of Friday, they've received no changes to the marketing plan, indicating GloRilla is still set to perform. The rapper was released from jail shortly after her arrest and is out on bond.

According to the Suwanee Police Department, officers arrested the rapper, whose real name is Gloria Woods, after she took a U-turn at a solid red light. It happened around 4 a.m.

Police said that Woods' eyes were bloodshot and watery. They say that they could smell marijuana in the car and alcohol on her breath.

They then asked how many drinks Woods had, but police say Woods said: "It does not matter" with her saying she was good to drive.

She faces multiple charges:

  • Driving under the influence of alcohol
  • Consuming alcoholic beverages or possessing open alcoholic beverage container while in the passenger area of motor vehicle
  • Failure to obey traffic control device

GloRilla is a recent breakout star in the rap world with her song "FNF (Let's Go)" becoming one of these songs of the summer in 2023.

She is set to perform with MoneyBagg Yo at the concert, who is also from Memphis.  Be aware, however, no lawn chairs are allowed for this event, according to the post on the Atrium Health Amphitheater website.
