'Go Riley Green!' | Thousands pack Atrium Health Amphitheater for second-ever performance

General Manager David Aiello said his staff worked the last couple of weeks to fix up some of the 'little things.'

MACON, Ga. — The Atrium Health Amphitheater was a popular spot in Macon Thursday as Riley Green took the stage for an estimated crowd of 7,000 people.

Maconites were 'Stuck on Georgia Time' all night as Green, along with special guests Tracy Lawrence and Ella Langley also took the stage. People lined up well before the gates opened, hoping to get a good spot in the pit or the lawn.

"Super nice. I'm excited," Dacey Cape said while in line.

Excitement built, from the adults at the gate — to the kids waiting in the parking lot.

"I was like, 'Wait, who's' — I was like, because I like a lot of country songs. Like, 'Who's he again?' And then I was like, 'Oh, that's right! Yeah, I'm really excited," Maci Ann Carter said.

After a successful first concert with Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top, staff at the amphitheater hoped to amp up the experience and fix up some of the little things. They planned to address backups at the concession stands by directing people to the east side which didn't get as busy.

Makaylah Howell was excited to take it all in for her 18th birthday.

"She found out last night," Howell's mother, Amanda, said.

"Last night, they told me and I was like, 'I have work in the morning.' She was like, 'Your boss already knows,' and I was like, 'What are you talking about?'" Howell said.

Some, like Grant Morgan, didn't even come for the headliner. Morgan wanted to see Tracy Lawrence.

"He's a great artist. I love him. I love his music. Seeing 'Paint Me A Birmingham' live is kind of top tier to me," he said.

Some, like Libby Ward, only needed a few words to sum up the excitement: "Go Riley Green!"
