MACON, Ga. — A woman was arrested in Macon after the Bibb County Sheriff's Office says she set a home on fire and attempted to burn a woman, according to a press release from the sheriff's office.
They say it all started as a fight on Sunday in the 3800 block of Log Cabin Drive on Sunday, and it ended with 53-year-old Kimberly Lashawn Brooks behind bars, the sheriff's office said.
The sheriff's office says the call came in just before 11:45 a.m. on Sunday and, when authorities arrived, they found a 25-year-old woman outside of a home with gasoline poured all over her.
They say a fire was also set inside the residence, which was subsequently put out.
Paramedics treated the 25-year-old woman and, according to the release, the victim was "cleared" by paramedics on the scene.
After the investigation, they say investigators identified Brooks as the suspect.
They say she was then arrested on Sunday and she is charged with aggravated assault and first-degree arson. She is being held without bond.
The Bibb County Sheriff's Office says the incident is still under investigation. If you have any information, you can call the sheriff's office at 478-751-7500 or the Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
