Macon residents come out to enjoy food trucks and free jazz concerts on Saturday

Three different food trucks were out and about to pair with the three different jazz bands who took the stage on Saturday.

MACON, Ga. — Ya like jazz? Well, several people with the Jazz Association of Macon certainly do.

The group hosted its 21st celebration of Jazz & Arts on 200 Riverdale Drive on Saturday.

Several bands came together to put on a free life jazz concert for all those that came out.

Some of the bands included the Good Friends Band, led by trumpet and flugelhornist Evan Jones, the JAMbassadors, led by saxophonist Edward Clark and Hector Nieves & Friends, which is led by Hector Nieves, who specializes in Latin jazz and the flute.

The event also offered several food truck vendors for people to enjoy. They encouraged people to bring out lawn chairs, and enjoy the jazz and "groove." Hundreds of people came out and did just that. Many did so just from their front yard.

Alongside the food trucks and jazz, there were art booths, a kids' zone, a "VIP Cotton Club Lounge" and various fun for the whole family.

The event ran from 12 to 6 p.m.
