MACON, Ga. — 58-year-old Christopher Swain died from his injuries in April after he suffered a fractured skull and brain bleed during an assault in Macon.
The Bibb County Sheriff's Office says he was beaten by another man on the corner of Walnut Street and Forest Avenue on April 14.
Six months later, his family is looking for answers.
Crystal Swain is remembering her dad as one of a kind.
"My daddy, he was very outgoing, outspoken," she said. "He was a people's person."
Crystal says he did not deserve what happened to him.
"He had no enemies," she said. "And for something like this to happen, it breaks my heart every day."
Her sister, Rasheida Swain says every day she misses her dad, and never expected to be in the position her family is in.
"He was caring, outgoing, outspoken, and funny," Rasheida said.
The family says they will continue to hold on to the memories they have with their father.
"The ambulance took forever to get there so it could have been 20-30 minutes he was out in the sun, and this could have been prevented," Rasheida said.
They say the lack of information is taking an emotional toll on the family.
"My daddy he was loved he really was, and he deserves to get that acknowledgment," Rasheida said.
Swains' daughters said the death of their father has made the family stronger and brought them closer together.
Despite feeling closer Christopher's family says his death affected them deeply. They hope they can find justice for him soon to be able to move forward.
