MACON, Ga. — Lantanya Sandifer is a physical education teacher at Rutland Middle School.
She typically spends her weekends going to live music events, but this weekend she's putting on her dancing shoes to be a part of it.
"Everybody that knows me knows that I'm probably on the scene but Anthony Hamilton is a huge household name," said Sandifer.
She is one of hundreds of music lovers heading to downtown Macon on Sunday to be featured in a star-studded music video.
Teeger Entertainment is hosting the event in partnership with recording artists Stacii Adams and Anthony Hamilton at the Tubman Museum.
Latanya was excited to attend Anthony Hamilton's concert at the Macon Amphitheater back in April with her family and friends.
But she's thrilled to now be a part of the show.
"Just to kind of be on the scene of a live video being made is an honor and that'll be interesting to see the behind-the-scenes work so yeah, I'm excited," Sandifer said.
Former Bibb Commissioner Al Tillman is Vice President of Teeger Entertainment. He says he's excited for the shoot and how the music scene is changing in Macon.
"Years ago we didn't have nearly this much fun and entertainment and happenings. And so to have somebody like Stacii Adams and Anthony Hamilton come here and allow the public and community leaders to be a part of the video shoot says something. It's amazing." Tilman said.
Tilman says the song for the shoot, titled "Happy Days," has an upbeat 90's inspired tune.
While this is just the latest community event that allows the public to dive into the music scene, Tilman has his eyes on the future.
He's hoping to create an entertainment commission to create more structure behind movie and music opportunities in the city.
"Macon is a music entertainment town and we need that entertainment commission. So, when I left the commission I told everybody that's what we're going to be doing and so we're trying to live up to that," Tilman said.
More than 200 dancers are already registered for Sunday's event. While the online registration is full, Tilman says everyone is welcome to come out.
The shoot begins at 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 14 at the Tubman Museum at 310 Cherry Street. All attendees are encouraged to wear black tie attire.
