MACON, Ga. — If you are a lover of the McDonald's McRib sandwich, the company has some good news for you.
A public relations agency working for the company has announced the McRib is back in select locations — including here in Central Georgia.
They say it is part of a McRib Tour, with the sandwich returning to Macon stores on Thursday along with locations in Savannah, Jacksonville and Tallahassee. They say the sandwich is also coming to locations in those city's surrounding areas.
In a press release, McDonald's said that it was a reaction to people's disappointment with the McRib's departure. They "retired" it back in fall 2022.
"It turns out not everyone was ready to say goodbye to the McRib," they wrote. "While it won’t be available nationwide, lucky fans will find their favorite elusive saucy sandwich at their local Southeast South Carolina, South Georgia, or North Florida McDonald’s."
In the press release, the company did not give a timeline for how long the McRib will be back with it only saying "while supplies last." But they say the sandwich — which debuted in 1981 — is "still going strong."
