AUGUSTA, Ga. — Johnifer Barnwell — one of the four inmates who escaped from the Bibb County jail — was captured on Sunday, but a photo released by the Bibb County Sheriff's Office reveals more about what authorities found during their raid.
On Tuesday, the sheriff's office said that they found around 64 pounds of fentanyl, 20 pounds of meth, 2.5 pounds of cocaine, 4 pounds of heroin and over a pound of marijuana.
They also say they found three guns inside the house when Barnwell is arrested.
The raid was took place in the 3000 block of Alpine Drive in Augusta just after 8 a.m. on Sunday morning. Barnwell had been convicted on serious federal drug crimes only a few weeks before making a break from the Bibb County Jail.
He was convicted on six counts of drug trafficking charges. He could face up to life in prison.
Bibb County Sheriff David Davis says that they don't know whether Barnwell will be rebooked into the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.
"The fact that Barnwell is a federal inmate and that he likely faces additional charges connected to his capture, it is under the purview of the FBI and US Marshals to house him in the most appropriate location for their purposes," Davis said.
The sheriff's office did not provide any information about whether anyone else was arrested during the raid.
Included in the raid was the FBI, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, the U.S. Marshall's the U.S Attorney's Offices for Middle and Southern Georgia.
Currently, we know of three people — Mykia Williams, Jakaylen Williams and Tymesha Ceiarra Timley — who have been arrested for aiding in the escape of at least one of the Bibb County inmates.
Authorities have recaptured all but one of the four men who escaped in the early hours of Oct. 16. So far, they have captured Marc Anderson, Chavis Stokes and Barnwell.
That only leaves Joey Fournier on the run, who is accused of strangling his ex-girlfriend in her new home back in February.
