Here is when your local Central Georgia Christmas parades are scheduled

What better way to get into the Christmas spirit than a good Christmas parade? Here are the variety of parades scheduled in Central Georgia.

MACON, Ga. — With Thanksgiving here, it means many people are starting to look ahead to the season of holiday cheer: Christmas. What goes better with Christmas festivities than a lovely Christmas parade? 

Across Central Georgia, communities are getting their Christmas spirit on with their own iconic Christmas parades. 

Here is when your local Central Georgia Christmas Parades are set to take place. 

Nov. 30 parades:

Forsyth/Monroe County: 

The Hometown Holidays Parade will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Nov. 30. The free parade will take place in downtown Forsyth.

Dec. 1 parades:

Dublin Christmas Parade:

Festive floats, fire engines, and the gathering of friends, loved ones, and travelers. Those are among the things that the Exchange Club of Dublin says will make this year's Christmas Parade so special!

The parade will be heading down Jackson Street on Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. The mile-long parade promises to add "a touch of wonder and delight!"

They also say there will be jingling bells, tinsel, and marching bands that will create "a fantastical evening of spirited cheer."

Dec. 2 parades:

Dexter Christmas Parade:

The City of Dexter invites the public to turn out to the 15th Annual Christmas Parade kicking off at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2. They are inviting the public to come on out and enjoy the holiday season. Plus, if you have a float you'd like to enter, you still have time. The deadline is Nov. 28.

Lizella Christmas Parade: 

M&W Heating and Air is inviting the community to "hang out with Santa and Mrs. Claus" on Dec. 2 for the 5th annual Lizella Christmas Parade. 

The parade steps off at 2 p.m.

The company says that there will be hot dogs, chili, chips, and drinks served after the parade at 8239 Eisenhower Pkwy.

Perry Christmas Parade: 

Come on out to downtown Perry on Dec. 2 at 10 a.m. for what organizers say will be the "sweetest City of Perry Christmas Parade yet!" Why is it the sweetest, you may ask? Well, this year's theme is the "Gingerbread Village: A Sweet and Merry Christmas Parade." 

They say the parade will take place in downtown Perry and the city is accepting applications for participating in the parade. You can check out the rules and find out how to register here

Get ready to experience the sweetest City of Perry Christmas Parade yet! Join us in Historic Downtown Perry on December 2 at 10:00 a.m. as we kick off the holiday season. This year's theme is "Gingerbread Village: A Sweet and Merry Christmas Parade."

Byron Christmas Parade:

The annual Byron Christmas Parade will take place on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 1 p.m. The parade will start on Linda Drive and will then go to White Road, to Highway 42 to Moseley Road to Main Street and finally ending on Linda Drive. 

According to the event page on Facebook, the parade is hosted by the Byron Welcome Center. 

Dec. 3 Parades:

Milledgeville Christmas Parade: 

Want to get an in-person look at Santa? Well, the Exchange Club of Milledgeville is inviting you to come out to their annual Milledgeville Christmas Parade on Dec. 3 in downtown Milledgeville.

The parade will kick off at 3 p.m. starting at the South Gate of Georgia Military College, making its way to Elbert Street and then heading down to West Hancock Street before they make their way south towards the Piggly Wiggly. 

Dec. 9

Bolingbroke Christmas Parade: 

Come on down to downtown Bolingbroke for their parade Dec. 9. The parade starts at 11 a.m. and the organizers boast an array of events and offerings attendees can enjoy.

You can take a picture with Santa, and enjoy some of Pinky's Shaved Ice and Hot Chocolate. And good news for food lovers, there are a number of food offerings.

They'll have boiled peanuts and food trucks, including Ricky's Tacos and Chuch Wagon. Those will be located at the Bolingbroke Antiques and Mercantile. 

They're also encouraging you to stop by local businesses to pick up your holiday gifts this year.

Christmas in the [Fort] Valley: 

At 6 p.m. in Fort Valley on Dec. 9, organizers invite you "to immerse yourself in the magical spirit of the holiday" as the Fort Valley Lighted Christmas Parade marches through the heart of Fort Valley. The parade is hosted by the Fort Valley Downtown Development Authority. 

Warner Robins Christmas Parade: 

Join 13WMAZ anchors Katelyn Heck and Frederick Price as they host the City of Warner Robins' Christmas Parade on Watson Boulevard at 10 a.m. Dec. 9. This year marks the 65th year that the Christmas Parade has dazzled Warner Robins residents this holiday season.

The city also has a number of other Christmas festivities and events that you can find on their website.

Dec. 17 parade:

Macon-Bibb Christmas Parade

At 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, the Macon-Bibb Christmas Parade will take place in downtown Macon. It is set to run from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

On the page for the parade on VisitMacon's website, the parade will happen on Cherry Street.
