List: Central Georgia New Year's events

It's almost time to say goodbye to 2023. With it, there are many ways to ring in 2024 here in Central Georgia. Take a look at some of the events:

MACON, Ga. — As New Year's Eve fast approaches, many places around Central Georgia are preparing to ring in the new year.

Take a look at some of the offerings as we say goodbye to 2023 and say hello to 2024:

Macon's Renaissance Downtown Tour:
Evoking the Queen Bey herself, downtown Macon is putting together "a Beyoncé-themed New Year's Eve Extravaganza!" Happening in the heart of downtown, organizers say a number of downtown establishments — Serenity Lounge, Hotel Forty Five, Hello Boba, JBA, VIBEZ, and more — are offering Beyoncé-inspired offerings.

They'll also have an NYE Ball Drop in Rosa Parks Square, where they'll have a kiddy corner, local food and beverage options, a Beyoncé tribute artist and, at midnight, a ball drop to ring the new year in.

You can see a full list of participating businesses here.

Annual Just Tap'd Balloon Drop:

Just Tap'd in downtown Macon is holding a balloon drop as their way of ringing in the new year. They say they'll have over 600 balloons, which will be released to ring in the new year. They also will have champagne for $4 on top of their selection of craft beers.

The Ultimate Black Affair

At the Macon Centreplex Ballroom on New Year's Eve, from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., attendees are invited to put their black on as AJ the DJ spins some tunes. They promise the event will deliver "a night you will cherish and remember forever, filled with love, laughter and fun," their Eventbrite post says.

But headlining the event is R&B band Atlantic Starr. Tickets are $40.

New Year's Eve at Gracie's:

At Gracie's Rooftop Bar in Warner Robins, they'll have a disco ball drop for their New Year's festivities.

"As the final seconds tick away, watch the dazzling disco ball descend against the backdrop of the cityscape, marking the beginning of a new chapter," the event's Facebook page said. "And to keep the festive spirit alive, groove to the soulful tunes of Reggie Trombone, adding a musical spark to the night."

They'll have live music from 9 p.m to 1 a.m. They also have complimentary champagne, the event's posting said. Entry will be $10.

Dublin's Shamrock Drop:

The Shamrock Drop in Dublin will offer free fun in downtown Dublin. The "farewell street party" will offer popcorn for kids, a free 'Gru" movie showing and the Soul Shine Band performing under the stars, organizers say.

A light-up shamrock will descend from the top of the historic Fred Roberts building.

Organizers say they'll have food truck options, a gaming truck and a block party style set up.

The event starts around 5 p.m. and will last until midnight.

The Unadilla Hog Dop:

Organizers at the Unadilla Hog Drop promise an eventful evening including a dirt bike stunt show, live bands, barbeque and, of course, the dropping of the hog at midnight. The event will run from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. This will mark the 7th annual hog drop, organizers say.

Forsythia Ball Drop:

Join Forsyth Main Street's Forysthia Ball Drop this New Year's Eve for music, games, cornhole and more. They'll have music from a local DJ, DJ Ron, along with a food truck and a photo booth. The event will run from 8 p.m. to midnight in Courthouse Square at 8 W. Johnston Street.

Perry's New Year's Eve Buzzard Drop:

The Perry's Buzzard Drop is an annual tradition. However, this year, organizers promise it will be something slightly more special. In fact, the event is part of Perry's 200th Birthday.

The event is located in historic downtown Perry and they'll be dropping a Buzzard,

They will also have live entertainment by Cash's Juke Joint and DjMixmaster T, Trailer Flash photo booths, inflatables and more.
