LA studio presents new play at the Douglass Theatre in Macon

The play is being presented by the Los Angles-based Outside Studios.

MACON, Ga. — A Los Angeles-based film and theatre production is coming to The Douglass Theatre in June. They're putting on a play called "Secrets."

"Oh man, "Secrets" is an incredible ride. It is a wild entertaining ride and it doesn't matter who you are, what social class you are, race, whatever, doesn't matter I promise you will see something in here you will be like 'Aww man.' It deals with relationships, divorce, breakup, heartache, love, redemption," Playwright and actor Wallace Demarriá said.

"Secrets" is the story of Evan and Merisha’s fairytale marriage that dissolves into a bitter divorce. Infidelity, lies, betrayal and many secrets have torn them apart but maybe true love can bring them back together.

The play is being produced by Outside Studios. It originally premiered at Santa Monica Playhouse in 2014 and saw sold-out performances every night.

"I think everyone will have a special connection to this story. I don't know a person alive that has not been in a relationship and has had problems, had issues," Director Amanda Niqole said.

The show premieres in Macon on June 23 at 4 p.m. and on June 29 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets ate $20 and $15 for members.

Outside Studios also produced a previous show called "Colorblind." It was critically acclaimed off-Broadway and played at the Douglass Theatre in April.

Tickets for "Secrets" are available on the Outside Studios website.
