Every week, they reported on stories interesting and relevant to kids their age. They were also responsible for celebrating Central Georgia’s best educators with the My Teacher is Tops series.
Junior journalists Kayden Carraway and Ian Sanders spoke with 13WMAZ to celebrate their tenure and talk about their favorite moments in the role. Both noted how much they loved the My Teacher is Tops series, noting how much fun they had surprising the teachers.
But now, a new team will be on deck and auditions will be held soon.
We'll have more information about the process soon, so keep your eyes open for more information about how your kid could be the next 13WMAZ Junior Journalist.
Auditions are open to students with birthdays between Aug. 1, 2011 and Aug. 1 2014. That means you must be 10 by Aug. 1 of this year, but not turn 13 before then. Parents will bring a birth certificate or passport to the audition to verify their child's date of birth.
The first audition will be on Wednesday, June 26 at The Museum of Arts and Sciences in Macon from 5 to 7 p.m. Another will be held at the Museum of Aviation on July 18 from 5 to 7 p.m.
You’ll also need to bring proof of residence, like a mortgage statement or utility bill, so we know you live in the 13WMAZ viewing area.
We can’t wait to meet all the passionate young journalists in Central Georgia!
