MACON, Ga. — When you think back to your school days, sometimes it's those teachers who really pushed you whom you remember the most.
This week's My Teacher is Tops at Matilda Hartley Elementary described herself as "tough."
Ms. Alicia Lingo has been teaching science and social studies for nearly 10 years. She says her favorite part about teaching is being able to break through and reach her students.
Her love for the kids shines through and they truly appreciate all she does for them.
Fifth grader Aaron Maddox wanted to show this appreciation by nominating her for this weeks my teacher is tops.
"My teacher is top. Ms. Lingo is the best teacher. She always has a smile on her face and greets in the morning and teaches science and social studies at Matilda Hartley Elementary School. My name is Aaron Maddox and Ms. Lingo is my teacher's tops in Macon, Georgia," Aaron said when reading his letter aloud.
"I love kids, I really do and I treat them like they're my own. So, even though I'm really firm, I may be a little hard on them sometimes because I really care and I want the best for them," Lingo said.
Congratulations Ms. Lingo!
