Inmate at Macon State Prison dead after fight with his roommate

The Georgia Department of Corrections is investigating the death.

OGLETHORPE, Ga. — An inmate at Macon State Prison is dead after a fight with his roommate, according to a release from the Georgia Department of Corrections.

The body of Reginald Ginn was turned over to the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the official cause of death.

Ginn’s death is being investigated by the Georgia Department of Corrections’ Office of Professional Standards. They are not releasing any additional details because of the ongoing investigation.

Ginn was serving a five-year sentence for shoplifting in Richmond County.
