MACON, Ga. — A Houston County deputy who started his job eight days ago was arrested at a Macon elementary school Tuesday for driving under the influence, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office says.
Now, he's off the job, pending termination.
Garrison Page, a former Bibb County Sheriff sergeant, was arrested outside of Skyview Elementary School this morning and taken to the Bibb County jail, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office said.
In a statement, the Houston County Sheriff's Office confirmed Page works for the agency but says he is now suspended.
"We were made aware of the arrest earlier today. Deputy Page has been suspended pending termination. The Houston County Sheriff’s Office has no further statement about the arrest at this time," Houston County said.
Up until Oct. 1, Page was a sergeant with the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, which is a position he held since April 14, 2023. His Peace Officer Standards and Training Council records show he voluntarily resigned from his position.
The Bibb County Sheriff's Office wouldn't provide more details on his arrest until an incident report is completed. 13WMAZ has requested the incident report.
