WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — A Houston County home was heavily damaged in a fire on Friday night, according to a press release from Fire Chief Chris Stoner.
Around 10 p.m., Stone said a call came in from someone within the 100 block of Falcon Crest in Warner Robins. They said there was a fire in their garage.
When the fire department arrived, he said they saw how extreme the fire in the garage was. They also learned the fire had spread to the house's attic.
All residents were able to get out of the home before the fire crews arrived and no one was hurt.
After speaking with the homeowner, she said the fire got started after a complication with a lithium battery in a golfcart. She said that, after plugging it in for about 15 minutes, it caught on fire and spread from there.
Stoner added that Red Cross has been notified and will be providing assistance to the family.
