TWIGGS COUNTY, Ga. — Highway 96 has reopened after a SUV-tractor trailer collision that caused traffic delays well into the night, according to Twiggs County Fire Chief Shaun Hart.
Hart says the accident happened shortly after 7:00 p.m. and there was only one person injured in the initial crash.
He says the driver of the SUV was injured, and is being transported to Macon for medical treatment.
"We weren't sure about all of the injuries, so we loaded him in and he's on the way to the medical center," Hart said.
Hart says they are still working on clearing the scene. Both lanes of Highway 96 at Old Shiloh Church Road were closed til after 11 p.m. Monday night.
