MACON, Ga. — A group in Macon held an event to help the homeless community in Bibb County.
The Hands For Hearts organization held a Community Day Event at Carolyn Cratyon Park on Saturday.
The event was set up as a “one-stop-shop” for the home community. They offered free access to toiletries, clothing and shoes, health and wellness check ups and several other various resources.
The event also had multiple recreational activities to help “foster a sense of community and enjoyment.”
Hands For Heart is a non-profit organization that is “dedicated” to helping the homeless community in Macon. Their mission is to provide a holistic approach to care, by aggressively addressing not only immediate needs, but also offering resources and help to the homeless community.
“We believe that every individual deserves dignity, support and the opportunity for a better future, Chaunicy Brown, a representative from Hands For Heart, said in a press release.
The event started at 2 p.m.
