MACON, Ga. — On Sunday, people of all ages gathered in Central City Park in Macon to take a stand against gun violence as part of 'Guns Down, Water Guns Up.'
The event focused on putting the actual guns down, and creating peace within the community.
Event organizers say this was the first time they organized an event like this and over 300 people showed up to participate throughout the day. They're planning on putting together a whole month of events next year to help stop violence in Macon.
This was just one event in Central Georgia in the past month focused on fighting gun violence.
Warner Robins held their event earlier in June, where more than 100 people attended.
