Gordon man dead after walking in front of train

It happened around 9 p.m. in Gordon.

GORDON, Ga. — A 63-year-old Gordon man is dead after walking into train tracks on Thursday, according to Wilkinson County deputy coroner Dusty Thomas.

The coroner’s office was called at 8:51 p.m., about 20 minutes after witnesses called 911.

Witnesses say they saw a man park at a Texaco gas station and walk into the cars of a moving train.

Thomas has called the case “open and shut." He says they are investigating it as a suicide.
