JULIETTE, Ga. — Folks from all over headed to Juliette for the Fried Green Tomato Festival on Saturday.
After a two year hiatus, the festival is finally back and celebrating the iconic 1991 film of the same name.
The town of Juliette was put on the map, and the festival has been going strong for 17 years.
"Juliette is a landmark. The town dates back to the 1800s and it had a lot of ups and down. About 31-32 years ago to movie was filmed there and it's been a live little town ever since. We're very proud of it," Festival chairman Tommy Moon said.
The festival hosted 50 vendors, along with arts and crafts and lots of food.
Visitors could stop by local shops and boutiques and even have a meal at the famous Whistle Stop café.
The festival continues all day Sunday, with local bands, rides for kids and plenty for train enthusiasts!
