Former Wilcox County teacher charged with 77 counts of sexual exploitation of children

WILCOX COUNTY, Ga. — A former Wilcox County teacher was arrested on sexual exploitation charges, according to a press release from the GBI.

34-year-old Lorenzo Dennard of Atkinson County is charged with 77 counts of sexual exploitation of children, three counts of electronically furnishing obscene material to a minor, and one count of improper sexual contact by an employee.

On Friday, the Wilcox County Sheriff’s Office asked the GBI to investigate allegations against Dennard, a former Wilcox County teacher and coach, who had an inappropriate relationship with a former student.

Dennard was booked at the Wilcox County Jail and released on bond.

Once the investigation is complete, the case file will be given to the Crisp Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
