Georgia Power contractor sent to the hospital after being shocked, fire department says

ATLANTA — An employee with Georgia Power is in the hospital after being electrocuted on Wednesday. 

According to Georgia Power and Atlanta Fire and Rescue, it happened around 3:15 a.m. Fire crews were called to 356 Boulevard NE, where they said a man was found in a bucket attached to a truck. That's the address of an Exxon gas station. 

Fire officials said that the call was for electrocution but did not add any more details. Georgia Power confirmed it was one of its contractors, adding that the man was receiving medical care. 

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the individuals and their families at this time. The safety and health of the public and our workforce is always a top priority," a spokesperson said in part.
