MACON, Ga. — An 84-year-old woman was beaten in an attempted robbery in east Macon at around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday night, according to a press release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.
They say it happened in the parking lot of the Dollar General on 2797 Emery Highway.
The woman was approached by three teens wearing all black, which is when the teens attempted to take the woman's car keys, the press release said.
They say the teens began beating her, which caused injuries. Other people then stepped in and the three teens ran away.
The woman was then taken to Piedmont Hospital and is in stable condition.
They say that there is no word on suspects at this time and the information in the case could change as the investigation moves forward.
