Man, 35, killed in Dublin shooting, deputy coroner says

It happened Wednesday in the 400 block of Jones Village.

DUBLIN, Ga. — A shooting in Dublin left a man dead Wednesday afternoon, according to Deputy Laurens County Coroner Nathan Stanley.

Stanley said Cortez Hicks, 35, died at Fairview Park Hospital at around 12:24 p.m. Wednesday.

The shooting happened at 422 Jones Village in Dublin before he was transported to Fairview Park Hospital.

The shooting is currently being investigated by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Many details are currently unavailable. We are working to learn more about what led up to the shooting and where the police investigation stands.
